Machinery works TAURAS-FENIX has held the III annual business seminar DAIRY PACKAGING-2016 in St. Petersburg. Top managers of the largest companies on producing and processing of milk from different regions of Russia and foreign countries, heads of federal retail networks, representatives of the Government of St. Petersburg and mass media became guests and participants of the seminar which was held for 18-19 May.
The organizer and the ideological inspirer of DAIRY PACKAGING seminar is TAURAS-FENIX – one of the leading Russian producers of filling & packaging and processing equipment.
The business seminar DAIRY PACKAGING is annually held in the Northern capital since 2014. The three-year term is very short for the large-scale exhibition project. However, it has appeared enough that the business seminar organized by machine-building company has become one of the authoritative and expected events for the Russian dairy industry.
This year DAIRY PACKAGING has brought together more than one hundred guests and participants from different regions of Russia, and also – from Belarus, Greece, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Many of them represented the large companies on milk producing and processing whose brands are well known to the Russian and foreign consumers.
Producing company of plastic containers "Mir Upackovki" and the company on producing systems of industrial automation Festo have become the official partners of TAURAS-FENIX in carrying out DAIRY PACKAGING-2016. The information partner has become the Center of dairy market studying "The Dairy News".
The main events of the first day of the business seminar were realized on the platform of engineering plant TAURAS-FENIX.
The president of TAURAS-FENIX Group Sigitas Mitskus has handled welcome speech to guests and participants of the business seminar.
Engineering plant TAURAS-FENIX constantly enhances the products, bringing new models of filling & packaging and processing equipment to the market, Sigitas Mitskus has noted.
Last year updating of many machines produced by the plant in lots was carried out. Thanks to this, we succeeded in increasing of their universality, reliability and performance as well as brought into accord with modern European requirements.
Only for the last six months, the plant has started a number of new automatic machines and processing lines in serial production including automatic machines for milk filling, filling & packaging of other dairy products.
Finishing the performance, Sigitas Mitskus has expressed the confidence that participants of DAIRY PACKAGING-2016 will be able to not onlybe acquainted with production capabilities of machinery works and its products, but also choose the equipment for projects implementation on upgrading and re-equipping.
Welcoming the participants of the business seminar, the chief specialist of trade and public catering department of consumer market development Management of Committee on development of entrepreneurship and the consumer market of St. Petersburg Tamara Lomonosova has wished them successful work, interesting discussions and new profitable contracts.
Audience was also welcomed by top managers of the partner companies – the CEO of JSC “Mir Upackovki Mark Dagin, the head of sales of the European part of Russia, LLC "FESTO-RF" Ivan Znamensky.
Plenary meeting of the business seminar has been organized in a format of panel discussion on the subject "Algorithm of Work with Retail Networks in St. Petersburg". Heads and specialists of the federal network companies O' KEY, X5 RETAIL GROUP, REAL, WHOLESALE CLUB RYADY became its main participants. Representatives of networks told about how they work with suppliers after brief companies’ presentation.
It has become clear that now all retailers have similar schemes of interaction with supplier companies: via the website and official requests. At the same time, representatives of networks noted the special importance of well-developed and effective feedback, both with clients, and suppliers.
After that, there was the time of listeners' questions. Participants of the business seminar have fully used this opportunity, having discussed with retailers the questions which are the most interesting for them, including – methods of state regulation of a trade margin, marketing bonuses and bonuses for placement of goods on shelves of networks.
At the end of discussions, the representatives of networks noted that the time of "evil distribution networks" had passed and called both the colleagues retailers, and producers of dairy products to constructive cooperation.
Upon completion of the panel discussion, the heads of the dairy companies could discuss individually with representatives of networks various practical questions of cooperation.
The particular interest of the dairy companies’ representatives, retailers and journalists was caused by business excursions to TAURAS-FENIX plant.
The president of TAURAS-FENIX Co. Sigitas Mitskus and the vice-president Anatoly Petrov have shown the guests all chains of machine-building production – from sites on handling of metal to shops where assembly, adjusting and exact setup of ready machines is made.
The guests saw the productions of filling & packaging and processing equipment of TAURAS-FENIX, weight combinational batchers AMATA SCALE, plastic bags and film of TAURAS-PLAST. Thanks to it, the participants of the business seminar could be convinced personally that TAURAS-FENIX is powerful industrial complex, but not one of the entities, which can be registered as "productions" only on paper!
Having got acquainted with the plant technical facilities, the guests noted with admiration that only very few Russian entities working in an industry of packaging mechanical engineering can "boast" about so serious design and production base.
The program of the first day DAIRY PACKAGING-2016 also included a survey of the modern equipment of TAURAS-FENIX for dairy productions. The latest TAURAS-FENIX production models were shown to participants of the business seminar.
The particular interest was caused by operation of high-productive automatic machine of TRIBLOCK type "TF 6000" on pouring and packing of milk, kefir, fermented baked milk and other liquid dairy products in PET-bottles.
Attention of guests was also riveted to the automatic machine of the rotary-linear type "TF-RPP 3000" for filling and packaging of liquid dairy products in rectangular cardboard bag of Pure-Pak type. It was possible to see the process of bag forming from flat blank, nozzle welding to a packet with ultrasound, exact volume product filling, hermetic sealing of a packet and date printing.
At the exhibition developed in the new plant building, the operation of the automatic line for transport and group packaging into shrink film was shown. The shrink machine of new generation "TURBOPAK-186" became a center of this line.
Also, at an exhibition the labeling machine for polypropylene labels applying on glass, metal and both PET-bottles and cans, as well as some other working models of the equipment was provided.
Within the second day program the performances and presentations of the partner companies of TAURAS-FENIX took place.
Participants of the business seminar visited "Mir Upackovki" plant and saw the production of packages for ice cream, processed cheese and cottage cheese, liquid dairy products.
The company General Director Mark Dagin made the presentation "Modern packaging decisions for the dairy market based on tough plastic packages".
"FESTO-RF" company (the Russian representative office of the international company FESTO) presented the latest developments in the field of automation production processes.
The development manager "Energy saving" Mikhail Shadrin told about what economic effect can be gained due to more rational use of the pneumatic systems ensuring functioning of technological installations and the equipment. He gave examples of the specific entities of various industries, which had carried out the audit, and upgrade of pneumatic systems that allowed them to save millions of rubles annually.
Innovative solutions of FESTO in the field of robotics were provided by the development manager "Electric drive units» Dmitry Vasilyev, who made the presentation of "FESTO solution for group and final packages".
The seminar participants could get acquainted with opportunities of modern electronic and robotic systems, which would be introduced by FESTO company together with TAURAS-FENIX. The audience also, showed a great interest in the presentation "Innovative packaging solutions from the Elopak company".
The deputy commercial director of Elopak company Alexey Solov'yov told how to increase profitability of a dairy production without changing products composition and, of course, without reducing its quality thanks to the right choice of packages form and design.
Alexey Solov'yov gave examples of the successful cases, which allowed the clients of "Elopak" company – the milk manufacturing companies– to achieve an essential growth in sale volumes only due to application of new packaging decisions.
Within the presentation "More, than just packages", the finance director of "Kutterer-Rus" company Vadim Rassolenko presented a successful case on creation of original packages for dairy products producing company "Dairy Culture".
The representative of Kapelis Packaging company Panos Kapelis told about production of feta cheese. During his performance, he opened some "secrets" which surprised even professionals. Many participants of the business seminar expressed the interest in developing production of feta cheese in their entities.
It is necessary to add that participants of DAIRY PACKAGING-2016 could discuss as commercial as technical issues, to obtain all necessary information about equipment of TAURAS-FENIX, to establish or strengthen business contacts with the retail companies, to discuss a wide range of professional questions with colleagues.
Many business meetings and negotiations were held "on fields" of the business seminar. It would help to conclude new contracts on deliveries of filling & packaging automatic machines and line by TAURAS-FENIX to dairy entities in various regions of Russia and abroad.

– TAURAS-FENIX – is one of the largest producers of the filling & packaging equipment in Russia. We have come to the seminar DAIRY PACKAGING for the second time and it is very pleasant to see that the company develops, does not stand still.
We closely cooperate with TAURAS-FENIX plant on projects of reconstruction and modernization of our factory. Today we have already had many units of equipment. TAURAS-FENIX automatic machines provide filling and packing sour cream, cottage cheese, fermented baked milk, thermostatic yogurts, other our productions into the cups.
